Posto questa discussione per inserire la bella preview di copertina, realizzata da Phil Noto, dedicata a Buffy e Spike. 
Lo stile devo dire che mi piace abbastanza.
Darei un sette e mezzo, otto all'artista. Le espressioni di Spike e Buffy sono semplicemente meravigliose: lui è tutto furbetto come sempre e lei lo guarda con quella sua solita faccia perplessa! XDD
Vedere questi due che combattono assieme mi fomenta moltissimo! *w*

How does the pregnancy affect how Buffy sees herself and her role?
-Scott Allie: She'll be pondering that in upcoming issues. She has some great conversations with some key characters, including Spike, in "Buffy" #6. This has shifted her perspective instantly, of course. In "Buffy" #7, there's a fight that Spike insists she sit out of, and it does not sit well with her.
-I think a lot of Buffy fans grew up with these characters, in the sense that Buffy, Willow, and Xander were in high school at or around the same time, then experienced these different life events together (though, on the fans' side, hopefully without as much mayhem). Do you see Buffy's pregnancy as giving fans who are now parents another way to relate to the character?
-Scott Allie: Absolutely. Fans anticipated this, which surprised us -- fans were seeing this coming from fairly early on in Season 9 -- and the reaction has not been altogether positive, shall we say. I think they need to see what we do with it, and see if it feels honest and relatable. Obviously that's our hope.
-Fans are going to be wondering who the father is, and issue #1 put forth a few candidates. Does Buffy know, at this point?
-Scott Allie: Spoiler alert -- this will be one of the most upsetting aspects of the story, for some readers. Buffy doesn't know. Some readers will have a hard time with the idea that their hero could have gotten into this situation without knowing who the father is. She got black-out drunk in #1, and it turns out there are significant consequences. If the objection is that this couldn't or shouldn't happen to Buffy, it seems to me that that objection comes from the idea that there's something wrong with women to whom this does happen, that it is something beneath Buffy herself, and the fact that Joss and Sierra [Hahn, editor] and Andrew and I disagree with that is the reason why we think this is a viable storyline for Buffy.
la situazione di buffy incinta senza sapere di chi è il padre... è una di quelle situazioni in cui vedi veramente chi ti è vicino. chi ti sostiene, nonostante tutto. credo sia un modo per poter vedere spike con un ruolo simile al genitore, che altrimenti non avrebbe potuto ricoprire (visto che è un vampiro). e il 9x6 sarà veramente interessante, a riguardo!. -

Credo anch'io che la situazione possa essere funzionale allo sviluppo di Spike. Lo vedo davvero come una possibile figura paterna e sono sicura che lui sarebbe il genere d'uomo capace di amare un figlio anche se non biologicamente suo.
Il punto è che si pongono degli altri interrogativi:
1) la gravidanza verrà continuata? E' un tema che, secondo me, dovrebbe essere esplorato bene. Buffy è rimasta incinta di non si sa chi, a seguito di una sbronza. E' single, non ha un lavoro decente e in più fa la cacciatrice. Da uno come Joss, che è attento ai temi del femminismo, mi aspetto come minimo un'analisi rigorosa sul tema e anche la possibilità di un aborto. Semplicemente per il dovere di fare scegliere Buffy.
2) Chi è il padre naturale?
Angel, a questo punto, è da escludere, se il bambino è nato la sera della festa.
3) Problemi sul consenso.
Eh sì! Alla fine era sbronza: è stato sesso consensuale? Non scherziamo con le cose serie, Joss. ù_ù
Dopo che saranno date le risposte a queste tre domande, potremo andare oltre con la storia.

da come dicono, il tema sarà trattato approfonditamente nei prossimi numeri. e SPERO che lo facciano debitamente, che si raggiunga, insomma, la profondità necessaria che era mancata quasi in tutta l'ottava stagione!. -

Mi aggiungo alla speranza di un trattamento approfondito e femminista di una tematica così delicata. Diciamo che i prossimi numeri saranno 'la prova del 9'.
Comunque secondo me Buffy deciderà di tenere il bambino per provare l'esperienza, vista la precarietà della sua vita, e magari si farà aiutare (o l* darà in affidamento a Dawn e Xander...).. -

Comunque secondo me c'entra qualcosa la fatina. Se é stata lei a mandare la Cacciatrice! Quando la prima cacciatrice da a Buffy un pugno al ventre secondo me vuol dire qualcosa... l'ha sentito nella realtà poi... Secondo me quindi questo é un segno della gravidanza di Buffy poteva averla causata la Fata come sarebbe potuto essere anche un avvertimento del tipo "C'È QUALCOSA IN FORNO"!!! Scusate la schiettezza! . -

This review will largely have me fawning over Spike. I try to act impartial but when it comes to the awesomeness that is Spike, it becomes very hard to do. This issue has Buffy dealing with the aftermath of the news that she learned at the end of the last issue. She seeks advice from someone who has first hand knowledge of what it’s like to fall into an impossible situation where the answers aren’t so easy. As Buffy is getting advice and trying to figure out her future, Spike is on a ride-a-long with Officer Dowling. Spike is trying to teach him about the subtleties of zompires. As Spike is explaining the enigma that is Buffy, he receives a S.O.S call from her and without hesitation he’s on his way (swoon). Buffy spills life changing news to Spike, who does nothing but listen and be supportive. As Buffy asks Spike for help, Spike again, without missing a beat is there for her.
This issue is very good and very sad. Spike is amazing, from his very concise summary of his and Buffy’s “story” to his right into action chivalrous behavior. The art is fantastic, the somber tone is captured extremely well. I love the cover, it is irrefutable that Spike has Buffy’s back (without judgment) both literally and figuratively and this is what makes him the best. This issue is the first in a two issue story arc which hopefully will conclude in a not so easy wrap-up in the next issue. Hopefully, I didn’t fawn too much, but I think once everyone reads the issue my Spike love will be understood!

Spoilers grandi quanto una casa, astenersi se non interessati.
Ci siamo: Buffy è ufficialmente incinta.
La narrazione si apre con un flashback di Nikki Wood che, affronta il Cruciamentum, incinta e riesce a distruggere un vampiro, proprio con la consapevolezza che questi sta minacciando suo figlio. La cacciatrice ha appena compreso che suo figlio potrebbe essere la motivazione che la spinge a combattere, ad andare avanti, ma il suo osservatore insiste perché lei si metta quantomeno in congedo, visto che il peso della missione ricadrebbe sulle spalle del piccolo.
Presente: scopriamo che Buffy non sa chi è il padre. Parla con Dawn della gravidanza e dice di essersi sbronzata per bene, la sera della festa, tanto da non ricordare un tubo. Chiunque sia il padre è comunque da sola. Dawn risponde che ci sono sempre lei e Xander a supportarla, Buffy decide che deve parlarne con qualcun altro.
Nel frattempo, Spike va in missione col detective Dowling. Entrambi parlano di Buffy: Spike chiede al detective se Buffy gli piace e lui non risponde, ma dice soltanto che lei non dovrebbe stare con un poliziotto. Spike risponde che Buffy ne ha viste di cotte e di crude e potrebbe gestire il peso di una relazione del genere.
Buffy parla con Robin Wood, il figlio di Nikki, della possibilità di una gravidanza: Robin le svela che sua madre si era messa in congedo dopo la nascita di Robin, ma nel '77 era tornata in azione, perché non poteva sopprimere la sua natura di cacciatrice e si era diretta nell'unico posto da cui l'osservatore la voleva tenere lontana: New York.
Robin dice a Buffy che lei è adatta a fare la madre, perché a differenza di Nikki non è da sola, ha la gang e si lascia aiutare da loro. Buffy si congeda e chiama Spike.
Spike era col detective Dowling che rinfaccia la domanda appena fatta: dice che intuisce l'amore di Spike per la cacciatrice e che pensa che lui dovrebbe essere sincero e rivelare a Buffy i suoi sentimenti.
Spike e Buffy s'incontrano, finalmente, in una piscina (?)
Buffy rivela a Spike che è incinta e dice che ha deciso di abortire. Il problema, spiega, non è lo stile di vita da cacciatrice: il problema è lei. Lei non sa gestire l'alcool, non ha un lavoro fisso, non ha una casa e non sa cosa fare della sua vita. Non è il momento adatto per crescere un figlio e, dunque, l'unica scelta rimane l'aborto. Buffy chiede a Spike di accompagnarla, quando lo farà.
Lui, con le lacrime agli occhi, risponde di sì.

Il numero, di per sé, non mi ha soddisfatta molto. Colpevolizzo Jeanty e la colorista, incapaci di conferire drammaticità alla narrazione, ma il momento Spuffy è magnifico.
Ora, veramente: amo Angel, amo Buffy e Angel, ma il primo che adesso mi viene a dire che il Bangel è amore vero e lo Spuffy no lo azzanno alla giugularkejsofd
Seriamente. Lui c'è sempre, accanto a lei.
E' incredibile come riesca ad emozionarsi sino alle lacrime, solo perché empatizza il dolore di lei, ed è magnifico che le stia accanto sempre, incondizionatamente, anche nei momenti più bui e di fronte alle scelte più difficili.

Jenaty e la colorista sono il male! Devo dire che mi ha sorpreso, temevo che Whedon non avrebbe avuto il coraggio di parlare di aborto 
C'è una vocina nella mia testa che dice 'non ne uscirà cosììì facilmeeenteeee' però sono molto curiosa e non vedo l'ora di sapere che succede nel prossimo.
p.s. i detrattori dicono che Buffy non ama Spike, in realtà..
